Let me start with the spool — the winding is even, with no knots or missing stones. The gold color is very elegant, not at all "plasticky". I sewed it on both by hand and by machine — the base is soft, the needle goes through easily and the stones don't get in the way of the stitching. The usage came out exactly as I'd calculated.
